Dr. Douglas Scott received his medical degree from the University of Chicago, ophthalmology training from Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Harvard University in Massachusetts. He has practiced general ophthalmology with an emphasis on glaucoma in the Lakes Region since 1990. He has expertise in the latest diagnostic and therapeutic laser modalities used in the treatment of glaucoma. With an interest in international medicine, Dr. Scott has been traveling to El Salvador since 2007 to provide ophthalmic care and instruction in advanced surgical techniques to local cataract surgeons.
Dr. Andrew Garfinkle received his medical degree from the University of Washington, ophthalmology training from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and completed additional fellowship training in cornea researching the healing mechanisms of the surface of the eye. As an Assistant Professor at McGill University, he became involved in excimer laser surgery in 1992 as the technique was evolving. He has performed over 8,000 excimer laser treatments and is a certified VISX trainer who has taught other eye surgeons to do LASIK and PRK surgery.
Dr. Lauren Branchini received her medical degree from Boston University school of Medicine and her ophthalmology training from Tufts/New England Eye Center where she also completed a research fellowship in retinal imaging with Optical coherence tomography (OCT). She provides comprehensive eye care including cataract surgery with a focus on medically treated diseases of the retina such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Branchini enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and gardening.
Dr. Cynthia Lawrence received her Optometric degree from the from the New England College of Optometry and then completed a Primary Care residency at the Boston Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Boston, MA. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry. She joined Laconia Eye and Laser Center in the summer of 2017 after practicing many years of medically-oriented and primary care optometry at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Lawrence was also an Instructor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth throughout her time at DHMC.
Dr. Richard Talkington received his optometric degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and began his career as an independent Optometrist in Franklin, NH. After over 30 years of private practice he joined Laconia Eye & Laser center in the fall of 2015 in order to offer his patients a greater range of eye care services. Dr. Talkington specializes in primary care Optometric services including eye health exams, routine vision exams and contact lens fittings and evaluations.
