Dearest Laconia Eye & Laser Center Patients,

       After over 23 years at Laconia Eye and Laser, Dr. Andrew M. Garfinkle, MD, PhD, is announcing his retirement from full time Ophthalmology as of the end of December 2023. Dr. Garfinkle joined LELC in July of 2000 having practiced in Canada for 10 years. An accomplished cataract surgeon and certified trainer and provider in LASIK, he helped thousands of patients achieve their vision goals over the years and his tireless dedication and engaging wit will be sorely missed by all of us in the community.

      These are challenging times in rural healthcare, we ask for your understanding and patience during this transition. While Laconia Eye remains a robust presence in the community, Dr. Garfinkle’s absence will, inevitably, create pressures on the schedule.
